I made a mistake

Sorry Pencil

Dear pencil,

Over the past few years I've been cheating on you with someone I found far more exciting at first. Someone who made me feel like I can accomplish anything, someone much younger and far more hip.

Wacom tablet.

I have come to realize the error of my ways. With her, I had to erase a lot, and it wouldn't ever really feel right anyway. The novelty wore off quicker than I realized. It never really meant anything to me. Honestly. It was more of a prolonged fling.

I love you, pencil. I promise from this day forth, I will keep you by my side and won't want to erase your little soft lines. They don't make you look old. They make you look distinguished and intelligent. I want to be with you for the rest of my life.

Disclaimer : Seriously.

Forever yours,

Aleks

The Starch of the Penguins

Have the penguins no decency anymore? What is the world coming to? Just a quick one for fun.

P-Diddly

By the by - this is purely meant as a joke, not as a way of offending good folks who worked hard animating hipster penguins that dance like Usher or whoever...I don't follow that culture...

Book is FINISHED!

Your Title

Hey guys! So, to the few of you saints who actually view this blog: I'm finally updating. Why the long absence? Was I procrastinating? Was I chasing moths around the lights?

I've been working on a book. It took me a month. 50 Pages, of stuff past and present, half filled with design, half filled with art. Mostly stuff I've uploaded places before, but here all in one, as a printed book. Now I can move onto the ton of projects going on this summer.

The above image is from the book. It's a depiction of a giant alien, healing the earth. Enjoy.

Who's wrong, who's right?

I wouldn't call myself a UFO nut by any stretch of the term, but I do follow the developments of various UFO related reports with a rather skeptical eye. And of course, I prefer to live in a world where everything hasn't been discovered and with at least a slim chance of the unknown. Even with doubts, how boring would it be to live in a world with nothing left to discover?
There have been various sightings reported, not for decades but for centuries, and if vague cave paintings of the prehistoric unelectric man qualify as anything to go by, perhaps even millenia.
Now an Irish astronomer says that he's successfully tracked these unidentified flying objects, and whatmore, he claims to be able to track their pre-specified flying patterns and accurately predict when and where they'll show up. Even a skeptical man like myself can admit that things are heating up, what with the weird mutilated corpse showing up in Russia few days ago, FBI's Rosewell documents disclosure (even if with a healthy dose of x-files's ball-busting ambivolence).
Fact remains that things on the subject continue being reported. I myself have seen stuff I can't explain (glowing orbs) and stuff I can chop up to obvious planes of unspecified model. The government seems to know some stuff, and the disclosure is beginning, perhaps due to Julian Assange knightly, if condomless, attempts at improving the open flow of information. The Queen Majesty's little sheep-infested greenland has already fessed up most of what they know from the past. Some shinnanigans are still uncommented on, like the disappearance of Lincolnshire's enormous torn-off (AND LOST) wind turbine. I mean how do you just LOSE a wind turbine?

Christians, feel free to give props to the levitating Jesus and blame the devil for chicken pox. Who's crazy?

Don't tax me, bro!

What's this? Something neat. Working on a new book. Already have 20 pages and counting. Now just to add the misc art, add some "Smart Fluff" and publish it. Looks like I'll be spending this Sunday doing that.

Here's a Yummly insight into my new book.

This has been a hefty week. Did my part to become a tax-paying American. After all the paperwork, you're just glad to be alive. I know I am.

I have a cool script here for those of you who actually use Photoshop - a script that allows you to Duplicate even multiple layers or even groups at once using you key combo. I use cmd + shift + R. GET YOUR SCRIPT! Remember to put it in Application/Photoshop/Presets/Scripts, then your own keycombo does the trick. The very awesome Marc Edwards of Bjango made this possible at Photoshop Family Support Forums. If you care about your software, that's the place to request features. And if you wanna learn something about UI Design for mobile platforms, check out Marc's Articles.

Check out THIS trailer for "Rise of the Planet of The Apes". It looks really awesome, plus, who wouldn't want to see a ton of intelligent monkeys prancing around San Francisco? Looks great. Can't wait to see what John Lithgow's role is. Such a huge fan of that guy. One of the funniest people alive.

Also, if you've missed this, Peter Jackson's production of "The Hobbit" have posted a first video from the set. It's crazy - they rebuilt the rivendell and bagend set and they also give a glimpse of 'Riddles in the Dark'. Martin Freeman probably is a hobbit already.  I knew he'd make a great Bilbo when I first heard The Hobbit will be made. His voice fits too. And it makes sense, hobbits just sort of appear british, which of course Ian Holm is...as was obviously Tolkien as well. I love the open-production of the film - the audience very much sees into the process without seeing any of the cool stuff while hype automatically generates over a LONG time and by the time they post the last video before the post-production halts, there has been so much buzz generated by the content you've already put out there, that you have a surefire hit, even if the movie wasn't good. And of course, the movie WILL be GOOD!
